Zhang Xiaorong is currently engaged in the study of the mechanism of interaction regulation between nucleus and mitochondria, mitochondria and cell fate decision, mitochondrial abnormality and the pathogenic mechanism of diseases. He has presided over several research programs, including NSFC Original Exploration Program (82450106), National Key Research and Development Program of China (2022YFA1303303 & 2019YFA0508700) and NSFC Training Program of the Major Research Plan (91440102).
